Brenda Garcia is 20 years old and a student at Wayne State University, where she is majoring in Pre-Medical Laboratory Science and minoring in Dance. She has been involved in Ballet Folklorico since she was 7 years old, and it has grown into one of her greatest passions. Currently, Brenda is the Assistant Director of Ballet Folklorico Herederos de Mayahuel and a dancer with Ballet Folklorico de Wayne State University.

For Brenda, Ballet Folklorico is a meaningful way to connect with her roots and honor the beauty and richness of her culture. She loves how this art form allows her to celebrate and preserve their cultural heritage. Dancing frees her mind and feeds her soul, which is why she continues to share her passion with others.

Through working with young students, Brenda hopes to inspire them to experience the same joy, connection, and freedom that dance has brought into her own life.
