Collin Schy

(He/Him)

Community & Family Arts Associate

Collin is a recent graduate from Michigan State University with a BFA in Stage Management. Collin grew up in Sterling Heights Michigan where he attended a Theatrical Performing Arts Program called WCSPA. This lit his passion for the arts and made him seek education in theatre and non-profit management in college.

In his time in college, he explored areas of theatre from scenic carpentry, to lighting/sound design, to production management and creating theatre for neuro-divergent youth.

All these experiences led him to Living Arts Detroit where he can share his knowledge, and love, of the technical/artistic sides of the arts!

Q: What is the most memorable or most impactful art experience you've had as an adult?

A: The most impactful art experience I've had as an adult had to have been from my study abroad in London England. The amount of care they as a society put into their theatre productions was unreal. I got to see Shakespearian Plays performed in the Globe Theater! This made me learn the history of where our modern theatre came from and gave me such deep appreciation for how far we have come in the arts.
